WOW,
did I stumble upon a goldmine with the
Cooper-Hewitt archive,
I mean I am not surprised
since it is the National Design Museum,
but boy oh boy
do they have some cool shit,
and
TONS and TONS
of it!
And the website is crazy with all the
ways you can search for things,
by color, country, departments, exhibitions,
people, periods, random, roles, and types.
The sub-catagories under each of those is kinda
mind-blowing and numbing too!
Nice job CHNDM!
So here are some of my
"not on view" picks,
which is kinda cheating since
nothing is on view currently
while they are closed undergoing
MAJOR renovations.
This guy is nutzo huh?
The ottoman fits into it so it becomes a ball
when not in use.
I have never ever seen this before....
Love this,
never seen it,
but I'm looking now....
Looks a lot like Maija Grotell,
I'll have to look into Mr. Foster,
I bet he was one of her students at Cranbrook....
I always loved this one from
Philippe Starck.
Theses are cool too.
I have a soft spot for this early American Modernism,
and they have a lot of it.
I had this once,
hit a
HOME RUN
with it....
Dang....
DOUBLE DANG!
WOWZERS!
Who the fudge is E. Fay Jones?
This is why I love "not on view'!
He HAS to have apprenticed under FLW....
I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers....
I've never seen it with matching cars!
This thing is so sick!
Used to HATE, now LURVE!
This would be good for me during one of my fits....
Who? What? Why?
I live for this shit!
They have a lot of this weird,
90s recycled design.
Maybe the wave of the future?
It was made by
"V. Restemeyer".
DUDE!!!!
Get the fuck out!
YETI CHAIR!
OH
SO
MUCH
MORE
!
I wouldn't kick it out of my bed for eating crackers either. Thing's beautiful.
