ReplyDeleteouch.
ReplyDeletelast summer i was invited for dinner with our u.s.ambassador here in vienna. it took place in a very posh flat, host is an art collector and hunter, too.
ReplyDeleteso in the dining room underneath the neobaroque ceiling were a number of these large heads of african bulls looking straight ahead,as if running.
underneath these the collection of vasarelys. side by side.
on the opposite side of the table the ambassador, great guy, knows a lot about croatian sailboats.
when the main course was served i noticed he had a little lapel flag.
when dessert was served the conversation was on its peak, coffee was great, but my frequently looking at the vasarelys, talking to the ambassador ,looking at the vasarelys again and again made the stripes in his lapel flag wave friendly ..
