twa stewardess dress: my kinda flight....

For TWA domestic ad campaign
 "Foreign Accents" 
1968
Mandatory for flight stewardesses to wear a paper outfit 
representing 1 of 4 countries for on flight ambience; 
French music played & French meals served; 
after flight stewardess discarded paper clothing & 
left flight in regular uniform; 
paper outfits designed by Elisa Daggs; 
gold paper metallic mini dress, 2 gold belts, 
(7" side seam tear & 1 small tear under bottom front placket) 
fair, 
never worn.

  1. seriously, back in the olden days things were loads better,at the very least in this regard -- a golden paper dress?!! could a contemporary pin-brained exec even conceive of such a brilliant move, let alone wrap his mind around it? gosh, this is so very awesome. dude, it's golden.

  2. a few years ago I saw the TWA Clipped Wings (retired TWA flight stewardesses) give a fashion show of TWA flight stewardess uniforms throughout the ages. it was awesome. They had some of the paper dresses, too. Some were even more awesome than this!
