memorial day on the mountain

There was a contest for the

Memorial Day Sausage Sizzle

here on the mountain.

These were my dad's entries

cooling in the "Breakfast Nook"

Pecan Pie, Lemon Torte, and Chocolate brownies.

The day started with 

POURING 

rain.

But then turned to this.

Here comes the rain

AGAIN!

Typical late Spring mountain weather.

Very skitzo, but interesting.

Obligatory flag shot.

Cherries are 

OBVIOUSLY

in season.

The cousins went NUTZ

for them.

Cupcake break

before a tractor ride.

My mom's potato salad

was the

BIG WINNER

of the SS contest.

Prize?

A white squirrel roasting a marshmallow

of course.

The fire was nice for roasting 

and warming.

With all the rain it was kinda cold....
