Dude,
it's going to be
Theodore Waddell Week
here at
MONDOBLOGO.
The guy is a fucking genius.
I was always kinda, sorta
interested in his most famous design
the
"Tensegrity Table"
Cassina
1973
But man,
I had no idea until I got his newish
monograph yesterday how
severely power he was.
I mean this chair
is great enough,
but it becomes
GENUIS
when you see it
turns into this:
Seriously Ted,
FUCK YOU!
Are you kidding me?
GENUIS!
Amazing....
His technical drawings are beautiful too.
So simple.
"WHEN CABLE IS LOOSE
STRUCTURE IS LIMP"
Ok,
it's hard to follow that up,
but I had to include these beauties too....
They are called the
"Chairs with Structural Cloth"
and are from 1984.
Here is the
"concept":
and
"description":
LOVE IT TED!
I love these drawings... simple and beautiful.
I want one of these.
Theodore,
gimmie a call.....
Wow. That chair at the top? I'm just marvelling.
ReplyDeleteI mean he really had to think that through.
I don't think I've ever thought anything through that carefully in my entire life.
He had to do some serious measuring too. Plus it looks awesome.
it's going to be a good week...
