paul soldner is dead

1921-2011
RIP

I tried to buy this piece on ebay
back in 2000.
The person had no idea what it was....
It ended up at Wright,
estimated
$30,000-40,000.
It did not sell.

Somehow, it ended up at
Scripps College
in 2004.
Glad it made it to a good home.

charlotte perriand: cute as a bug and sharp a a whip!

They say behind every great man
there is an even greater woman.
I think this was especially the case with
Charlotte Perriand.
But unlike a lot of the
great behind the scenes
women,
she got her due.
(most of the time)
So, not only was she beautiful,
she must have been tough, and
above all, smart.
Plus she designs a hell of a bookcase,
among other things....
