Franco Albini
Parma
n.d.
I was rummaging through my stacks
and came across this
excellent catalog from the Triennale Museum
on Franco Albini:
"Zero Gravity: Franco Albini: Construire Modernita"
Everyone thinks of Franco for his
furniture, especially the pieces he did for Knoll,
but he was an amazing architect,
and as I dig-dugged through the catalog
I noticed how killer his staircases were,
so here they are,
not a ton of them,
but enough for you to get a feel for his
sense of proportion and balance….

He's a suave mother fucker no?
A little pissed looking in most photos,
but not bad….
This is from an apartment building lobby
in Parma,
I will be making a pilgrimage my next trip.

He should have designed some glass,
it would have been amazing,
think Scarpa

staircase.
