Jere
is probably the
dealer
I look most
forward to seeing
at the few shows where he sets-up.
He has an amazing eye,
one of the very best.
He buys what he likes,
and puts together a booth of "high" modernism
and "low" folk art.
Something
that is not easy to do.
He makes no distinctions, one is not any better than the other
and that is
what makes it great.
Two of my favorite Jere Barnard purchases:
High:
A world-class Schindler plywood chair.
Low:
A soft-core pornographic photorealistic
Tupperware cup carved with a sharpened paperclip
by a prisoner.
Both were
AMAZING,
neither one any "better" than the other.
(We DID pay just a BIT more for the Schindler....)
So
here are some of the
highlights
from this show's
booth,
shot on a late Sunday afternoon,
3 days after
Jere had sold many of his amazing finds....
